Yeovil Town are back in SkyBet League One action this coming Saturday as Notts County visit Huish Park for a 3pm kick off.

The Glovers will be managed by newly appointed Paul Sturrock for the first time as he begins his reign in charge of Yeovil.

Sturrock has come in to take the role held on a temporary basis by Terry Skiverton since the departure of Gary Johnson in February.

The former Plymouth Argyle boss took training for the first time on Thursday and has claimed to have already selected his first starting line-up as Gaffer.

With Skiverton and Way staying in key coaching roles by his side, Sturrock begins his plans for the future whilst also trying to gain as many points as possible in this campaign.

Relegation has not been confirmed, but with a maximum of 48 points achievable for the Somerset side, negative results, both at Huish Park and elsewhere could see the mathematicians close the door on Yeovil’s season in League One.

In an interesting twist, Notts County, Saturday’s opponents are also bedding in a new manager this Saturday, with Ricardo Moniz taking charge in the away dug out for the first time.

Moniz takes over a County side languishing in the relegation zone, just two places above Yeovil, but still within one win of safety.

County’s form under caretaker manager Paul Hart has been more miss than hit with no win in the last five, but three draws on the spin have at least kept them in touch with the sides sitting just outside the relegation zone.

The last two draws have both been 0-0 as Hart instilled a defensive style than made the side difficult to beat.

The stalemates with Coventry and Walsall was preceded by a 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe.

County’s last win was way back on the March 3rd in a 1-0 win over fellow scrappers Colchester at the bottom of the league.

Attention then turns to the team news for the game and Paul Sturrock will know he will be without long term absentees Kevin Dawson, Simon Gillett and Adam Morgan.

Stephen Kingsley was forced off against Fleetwood after some rough treatment from those marking him he joins Liam Davis on  a list of those fighting to be back involved.

Captain Joe Edwards is still be managed towards a return before the season is out, his progress will be monitored as he looks to make the squad for the first time since the Bristol City game on March 10.

Despite him missing out over the last two games, the loan deal of Scott Loach from Rotherham has now expired meaning the club is now down to just six loanees, meaning one will have to miss out of the match day squad.

Yeovil Town are hoping to make Notts County their third side of the season to do the double over having already beaten the Magpies in November.

County took a lead on the hour but Shaun Derry’s men were to come unstuck when loanee Jordan Clarke scored twice in the final five minutes to secure an unlikely win and important turnaround.

The game was a fiery encounter; with midfielder Gary Jones sent off for a two footed lung and County assistant Gregg Abbot was sent to the stands.

Since the two sides first met competitively in the  league back in 2004, Yeovil have only been on the losing side three times.

Two of those losses came in the first three meetings, the other being in 2012.

During the 2012/13 season that ended in promotion for Yeovil, the Glovers picked up four points; a 0-0 draw at Huish Park and a dramatic 2-1 win away from home.

That win saw Paddy Madden score just before the break, County equalised from the penalty spot before Matt Dolan scored a direct free kick to secure all three points.

Time are changing at both clubs then, but the focus is on Paul Sturrock and his new role with Yeovil Town.
