Yeovil Town are back in Sky Bet Championship action at the weekend as the Glovers travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford.
Both sides have new faces in their camps and both need the points for very different reasons.
Watford are aiming high and Gianfranco Zola’s men are after three more points in their quest for promotion.
Currently, the Hornets sit in 10th just three points behind the play-offs.
As we all know, Yeovil are sat at the foot of the pile, needing a win for very different reasons.
I’ve already mentioned that both sides have new faces and for the hosts the new men are in defence. "One Size" Fitz Hall has rejoined the club on a short term contract and Arsenal loanee Hector Bellerin has been drafted in as extra cover at Right Back.
The Glovers have bolstered their numbers at the other end of the pitch, Ishmael Miller (Nottingham Forest) Adam Morgan (Liverpool) and Jonny Lundstram (Everton) have all joined, initially on loan, to add some much needed fire power to attack.
There was one exit from the squad however as Dan Seaborne heads to Coventry on a short loan to regain his match fitness.
Watford’s form doesn’t make great reading especially on their own patch, two defeats at home and two draws on their travels has piled the pressure on the team, and management as they dropped out of the top six.
Yeovil have had an extra day’s rest having played last Friday, in stead of Saturday, but have also been searching for a first point since the Nottingham Forest game.
Doncaster Rovers took the points in front of the TV cameras last week, Byron Webster grabbing the Yeovil goal in a 2-1 loss.
Captain Jamie McCallister came off in that game with a shoulder problem and could be a doubt for the game this weekend.
Looking back at previous meetings between the sides won’t take long, as they haven’t met competitively prior to this game.
All the form and bad fortune is behind Gary Johnson and his men as the Glovers head full steam into the Christmas period with fresh faces and hopefully the positive results to follow.
Tickets are available for the game still, but you’ll have to buy on the day.
For those not going to Watford, never fear as you’ll be kept up to date via BBC Somerset, Glovers Player and of course the social networks.
Looking further ahead, Blackpool are next up at Huish Park this coming Tuesday and you can save £5 on the ticket price by buying online in advance!
