Yeovil Town are back in SkyBet League One action this Saturday as the Glovers travel to one of the form sides in the division, Notts County.

County lie in fourth place in the table with Saturday’s visitors languishing 20 places below that, routed to the bottom of the table.

Yeovil succumbed to a harsh and undeserved Fleetwood winner last time out, a goal which not only took away a much deserved result, but also sent the Glovers to the foot of the pile.

County however are on a roll, having won five of their last six and dropping points just once in league matches during the same period.

However, Notts County did have to go through a midweek FA Cup replay, crashing out of the cup competition to League Two Accrington Stanley…who are they? Exactly.

Stanley’s prize for getting through Tuesday’s fixture? A home tie against none other than Yeovil Town.

It should also be noted that the only defeat County have suffered was both at home and most recently, a 2-1 reverse at the hands of Walsall.

Yeovil have been putting in some encouraging performances if not quite getting the rewards; a 0-0 draw with Chesterfield was backed up with a 1-0 FA Cup win over Crawley before last weekend’s sucker punch from Fleetwood.

The new look defence which includes loanees Jed Steer, Jordan Clarke and Stephen Arthurworry have looked increasingly solid with the issues coming at the other end.

Injury to Kieffer Moore and the lack of experience from Jordy Hiwula have seen the Glovers misfire in front of goal despite a number of decent chances.

In terms of team news, Yeovil are waiting on the condition of Joel Grant as he returns from Jamaica on international duty, he could be back in time, but a combination of jet lag and the physical demands of international football may mean he misses out on Saturday.

Chris Weale has joined Burton Albion on loan leaving Steer to fight it out with Artur Krysiak for the ‘keeper kit.

Minor injury concerns over Simon Gillett and Nathan Ralph have been monitored over the past week since they have been missing in recent weeks with Liam Davis also a doubt after limping off on Saturday.

It’s also worth noting that the club is still keeping six loans on the books, football league rules means only five can make a match day squad.

For County, they too are waiting on an international return from Mustapha Dumbya and Jake Cassidy could be available following long term injury.

County have been in the headlines recently with the press focusing on the dedication of Goalkeeper Roy Carroll, he’s been on international duty but still made sure he was back from Europe to play for the Magpies just 24 hours later.

Thanks to the two club’s recent spells in League One and the Football League there are a few previous fixtures to revisit.

Most recently, during the Glovers’ promotion season of 2012/13, Yeovil claimed all three points away from home and a more than creditable draw at home.

Paddy Madden and a Matty Dolan free kick did the damage at Meadow Lane while the two sides played out a 0-0 at Huish Park.

Prior to that season, the head to head shows each side with three wins.

Tickets for Saturday’s fixture are available on the day, but for those who are saving their travel time for the FA Cup trip to Accrington or who are getting their Xmas shopping out of the way, the match is available on Glovers Player.

Speaking of Christmas shopping, the online ticket facility at YTFC.net has a full range of home match tickets available now to purchase – just in time to be delivered, wrapped and popped in to a stocking ahead of the festive fixtures.

Highlights will be available on YouTube 24 hours after the final whistle blows and post match interviews will be uploaded just as soon as possible.
