7th February 2017

Darren Way’s side progressed to the last eight in style with a 4-2 victory over Reading Under-23s.

It was third home game in the tournament where the Glovers had put four past their opponents after wins over Portsmouth and MK Dons.

On the road in the Checkatrade Trophy, Town have faced Bristol Rovers and Reading – drawing 0-0 at the Memorial before losing on penalties, and winning 2-0 at the Madejski thanks to goals from Tom Eaves and Francois Zoko.

The duo are Yeovil’s top scorers in the competition with three goals apiece.

Luton also hit four goals in their previous match in the Checkatrade Trophy against Chesterfield.

The Hatters were fined £15,000 earlier in the tournament for fielding a weakened side despite winning two of their three matches in the group stage.

Jack Marriott and Issac Vassall are top of Luton’s scoring charts with two goals each. Josh McQuoid also has two goals but has since been loaned out.

Head-to-head

Town have never faced Luton in any format of the EFL Trophy.

The only cup match between the two teams was a League Cup tie in 2003 which ended 4-1 to the Hatters.

The Glovers won once on their previous four visits to Kenilworth Road; a 3-2 win back in 2015.

Last time out, Tom Eaves’ header rescued a point after a wonder strike from Stephen O’Donnell.
