The Glovers had slipped to bottom of the table, but have since climbed back up to 22nd and only inside the drop zone by a single point, following a draw against Brighton and an impressive 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest.

This weekend’s fixture presents a different challenge as Gary Johnson’s men won’t have the Huish Park faithful to call upon as they face a Leeds side in 10th place – six points behind the playoffs.

This shouldn’t deter the Glovers making the trip from Somerset (or elsewhere) as Leeds’ form hasn’t exactly been perfect.

United lost last week against local rivals Huddersfield and have been fluctuating back and forth between wins and losses.

Last time out at Elland Road, they did overcome Birmingham 4-0; however that victory, paired with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth are the only points they’ve accumulated since half way through September.

The Whites have been busy in the transfer market with players both coming and going in West Yorkshire.

Lithuanian defender, Marius Zaliukas has penned a short term deal while Dexter Blackstock has agreed a temporary switch from Nottingham Forest.

However, left back Aidy White has exited on loan to Sheffield United.

For the Glovers, Shane Duffy’s loan from Everton has been extended and he’ll remain with the Glovers until at least the end of November.

The injury list at Yeovil seems to be getting shorter; another midweek friendly against Torquay kept everyone in check and match fit and even Marek Stech has been stepping up his recovery after nearly three months on the side lines.

Much like Forest last week, Leeds and Yeovil have crossed paths on a number of occasions, unfortunately for travelling fans, the record is firmly in Leeds’ favour, in the six meetings Leeds have five wins and there has been just the one draw.

That draw came in 2008, with Lloyd Owusu converting a rebound from his own saved penalty to equalise after Luciano Becchio had opened the scoring.

The last meeting was in 2010, veteran defender Richard Naylor had scored twice for Leeds but Dean Bowditch scored on the hour to reduce the deficit, it wasn’t enough as the 2-1 score line was the final one.

A reminder that these games don’t get any easier for the Glovers who once they get through this weekend it is all eyes on Wigan Athletic’s visit on Sunday the 10th on November.
