20th April 2014

Yeovil Town are back in SKyBet Championship action this Easter Monday as they host Huddersfield Town in a 3pm kick off.

The Glovers are looking to build on two impressive draws with a win that will throw them back into the survival mix with two games to go.

Huddersfield are coming to Yeovil off the back of a hideous run of form, the Yorkshire side have only won three times since the start of February and failed to get all three points in any of their last ten games.

As a result, what looked like being a positive season with a late play-off push has turned into a lower mid table finish with safety confirmed thanks to early-season form.

The Terriors lie in 17th place, with 47 points on the board, ten more than Yeovil in 24th place.

But, despite the difference, there is no reason to believe that the Glovers couldn’t keep those above them in touching distance with a vital three points.

On Friday, Mark Robins’ side did gain arguably their most impressive result of their recent form on Friday, a 1-1 draw with promotion chasing Brighton.

That result was mirrored by Yeovil, who also gained a hard earned draw away at Blackburn who also have one eye on the chase for the Premier League.

The draw at the John Smith’s stadium was Huddersfield’s first point in April and it was secured by an early Oliver Norwood goal after just 6 minutes. Brighton pegged them back through Bruno Salter shortly before the end.

Prior to that, Huddersfield have lost against Derby, Ipswich and Bolton this month, conceding six and scoring just the one.

Yeovil’s form has been better, the draw at Blackburn was preceded by a point against Bournemouth and a win against hapless Blackpool. Another 3 points could put

Yeovil within one win of safety taking the season down to the wire. Goals shouldn’t be hard to come by for the Terriers, record signing Nahki Wells has come in from Bradford following his incredible season in League Two last campaign and with James Vaughan and Daniel Ward both proving dangerous, there should be no shortage of fire power.

Elsewhere, Joel Lynch is still suspended following his red card against Derby, but Peter Clarke is available again after also being sent off in the same game. Lynch was handed a two match ban, but Clarke had to miss just one.

For the Glovers, injury concerns to Kieffer Moore and Adam Morgan are proving the most concerning.

A long trip back from Lancashire on Friday won’t have helped tired limbs, but it’s hoped that with some well organised rehab and rest the same squad will be available again.

That includes Sam Foley who was back in the Yeovil set-up following the end of his loan spell at League One side Shrewsbury. It’s the penultimate home game of the season and there is no better time to get behind the lads than this Easter Weekend, with the kids off school the club have

decided to offer a ‘kids for a quid’ promotion.

Under 16s can get into the game for just £1, cheaper and far more entertaining that most Easter Eggs! So, if you’re stuck for something to do and you need a few hours away from all those chocolate eggs, come along to Huish Park and cheer the Glovers onto Championship survival.

The game takes place on Easter weekend, so the ticket office is closed today (Sunday) but is back open for usual Match Day operating from Monday morning.

However, tickets can be purchased through the online ticket system HERE.

Any tickets bought online will be available for collection on Monday, but please allow a little extra time to pick up your tickets and bring some ID to make it a smooth and quick transaction.

Tickets can be bought in person right up until kick off, but with the offer and a bumper crowd expected please make sure you arrive in plenty of time… you wouldn’t want to miss an early goal!

For those of you who cannot make it to the home of Championship football in the South West you can of course tune in to Glovers Player for full commentary as well as catch all the media reaction on YouTube and via all the social networks.
