Yeovil Town are back in action this tonight just two days after their FA Cup tie against Maidstone.

This time, the Glovers travel to Gillingham for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Southern Quarter Final.

The game kicks off at 7:15pm – please note the earlier kick off time – this is to encourage local families and youngsters attending the game and avoid them getting out way past their bed time!

Paul Sturrock’s side are hoping that the positive result from Sunday’s cup game will kick start their season and the return of a number of key players will likely help the cause.

The game saw Jakub Sokolik, Nathan Smith and Ryan Dickson all pass late fitness tests, it also saw the reintroduction of Omar Sowunmi and for the first time this season Ben Tozer following long term absences.

Additionally, the signing of Darren Ward on a free transfer adds much needed experience and nous to the defensive set up.

Of course, it’s not all good news and Sturrock still has some selection headaches.

George Thomas, the Coventry City loanee is cup tied for this game, he played against Yeovil for his parent club in the last round and as such will be missing once more.

Josh Sheehan has been called up to the Welsh Under 21 squad once more and will miss this game to join up with his teammates.

Sturrock will also need to replace both Sokolik and Artur Krysiak in the starting line up, both players saw red on Sunday, Sokolik will serve a three match ban but Krysiak will miss just one.

Chris Weale will slot into goal and Alex Lacey will more than likely take the position next to Ward in the centre of defence.

Gillingham have their own suspension issue following the fifth yellow card of the season received by Brennan Dickenson on Saturday.

Their own FA Cup story came to an abrupt holt at the weekend, losing 3-0 away at Stevenage.

The result could be classed as a cup upset with over 40 league places separating the two sides.

Manager Justin Edinburgh promised changes for this game claiming that none of his squad could take any credibility from the Cup exit.

Charlton Defender Harry Lennon has extended his loan deal and could feature against the Glovers.

Yeovil make their second trip to Kent in just two days and you can be there too, below is all the ticket information you could need.

Last time we met

Yeovil and Gillingham crossed paths twice during last season and neither league game resulted in a Glovers win.

The away game ended in a 2-0 win for the Gills, goals from Danny Kedwell and Joe Martin claiming the points.

In the return fixture, caretaker boss Terry Skiverton rung the changes and Yeovil took a lead through Gozie Ugwu, the lead would evaporate thanks to two goals from the visitors.

It was only a last gasp penalty from an emotional Adam Morgan on his return to the side saved the game and earned a point.

The last time Yeovil came out of this fixture with a win was way back in 2007 when Lloyd Owusu and James Walker scored in a 2-1 win.
