Yeovil Town will be hoping to continue their strong vein of form with a trip to Dagenham & Redbridge this Saturday (3pm).

Holding the best defensive record on the road in the National League this season (5 goals conceded), the Glovers face the side which has scored the most goals at home in Dagenham (22 scored).

For the hosts, confidence will be sky high following a 4-1 thrashing of Maidenhead United, where former Yeovil player Angelo Balanta struck a hat-trick.

Darren Sarll’s thoughts

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Sarll said; “You never know what way games are going to turn in these divisions. All the way up into the Championship, we all say the same thing, you can never really forecast the performance levels.

” They (Dagenham), have done very well this year. Last year, I think I backed them quite heavily, but Daryl (McMahon) had quite a lot of problems with injuries, but they finished strong. So it will be a tough game.”

Team news

The only injury doubts for Saturday’s game are Reuben Reid, Mitch Rose and Mark Little.

Reid is the closest to a return, with Sarll confirming he is likely to return to first team training on Monday.

Matt Worthington, Charlie Wakefield and Tom Knowles were all substituted against Eastleigh with slight knocks but all are okay for Saturday’s game.

A foot in the opposition camp

Dagenham have been boosted by the return of star striker Paul McCallum who needs no introduction to non-league football fans. After a five-game suspension for a sending off against Wealdstone, McCallum will be chomping at the bit to be involved.

Managed by Daryl McMahon, who has already tasted one promotion within the non-league pyramid, leading Ebbsfleet United to a National League South play-off victory in 2017.

Have we met before

In last season’s encounters with the Daggers, Yeovil Town were unbeaten in the two fixtures between the sides.

An early season clash in East London saw Luke Wilkinson sent off against his former club and his defensive partner Lee Collins forced off with an injury, so a valiant effort from Albi Skendi and Josh Staunton at the back saw Yeovil earn a point on the road.

After over 180 minutes of waiting for a goal between the two sides, the February encounter at Huish Park saw Tom Knowles wrap a last minute free-kick into the top corner to secure three points for Yeovil Town.
