Yeovil Town host Blackburn Rovers this Saturday as the SkyBet Championship returns to Huish Park.

The fixture has not one, but two, separate offers available to the Glovers fans to take advantage of; firstly buy your tickets in advance from www.ytfc.net and you could save up to £5 on the price of the match day ticket, while this game has also been designated as a ‘Kids for a quid’ match where Under 16s will be admitted for just a pound.

So, despite being the last home game before Christmas, the prices should hopefully help you get to the game while still having room in the budget for that extra stocking filler, (there’s plenty of those in the club shop, as it happens!)

Onto the game itself and Yeovil will welcome former Premier League champions Blackburn, who lifted the top flight trophy back in 1995.

Times have changed at Ewood Park and the Lancashire outfit were relegated into the second tier at the end of the 2011/12 season.

Blackburn currently sit in 11th place in the Championship table, six points off the play-offs and 10 ahead of the Glovers in 23rd.

Yeovil may be just one place off the bottom, but are actually closer to safety than they were last week; just a point separates them from 21st place Charlton Athletic.

Rovers’ form has been somewhat hit and miss of late, an impressive 3-2 win over Millwall was backed up with a 0-0 draw against high flying QPR, but prior to that they hadn’t won since the 2nd of November. What’s more, the visitors haven’t claimed all three points away from home since September. That 3-1 win over Bournemouth was their only win on their trips all campaign.

Alongside that stat, Yeovil haven’t lost at home, on a Saturday, since QPR visited in mid-September. Yeovil have collected eight points from their last four games and are undefeated in that same spell, a pair of wins have preceded draws against Charlton and Barnsley.

In team news, it’s all eyes on the Goalkeepers for Yeovil as it’s now a straight race for the Glovers’ number one shirt. Marek Stech is expected to return to the squad following injury earlier in the season, but last season’s hero will have to dislodge Chris Dunn who has put in a stunning run of form in Stech’s absence. Dunn was struggling slightly with injury against Barnsley but should be back fit for the game, either way, Yeovil are in safe hands.

The other injury news from the week is the return to training of Nathan Ralph who kicked a ball for the first time in over a year in training; it is safe to say a return to first team action is a fair way off yet, however.

For Blackburn, the news surrounds those who are available for selection who have missed out in recent weeks. Lee Williamson and Josh King were both doubts through injury but should both be available. Meanwhile, striker DJ Campbell has returned to training following his compassionate leave last week.

The fixture will mark the first ever competitive meeting between the sides, but they have crossed paths before.

In November 2000, Blackburn visited Huish Park as part of Warren Patmore’s testimonial. Yeovil lost 10-0 in that game with scorers including hat-tricks for both Craig Hignett and Egil Ostenstadt.

Those names may be long gone, but Rovers still boast such stars as former England ‘keeper Paul Robinson, Scotland Hot Shot Jordan Rhodes and Leon Best who scored vital goals for the Glovers during a loan spell in 2007.

The other former Glovers loanee in the squad is Josh Morris but he is on a short term deal with Carlisle so won’t be available this weekend.

Tickets are available right up until kick off, but the online offer applies only to pre-match purchases online.

As ever, if you are unable to get to Huish Park this Saturday all the usual outlets from Glovers Player and the clubs official social networks will have the game and post-reaction covered from all angles.
