10th July 2018

With less than four weeks until the 2018/19 campaign starts at Bury on the 4th August, Darren Way’s side ramp up their preparations by hosting the Swans.

Meeting for the first time since 2013, Graham Potter will bring his first-team to South Somerset in what will also be the Welsh side’s first pre-season outing.

Despite relegation from the Premier League in 2017/18, Swansea still boast a number of household names including Wilfried Bony, Jordan Ayew, Alfie Mawson and Leroy Fer as well as former Town loanee Connor Roberts.

For the Green & Whites it’ll be the first chance for supporters to see Town’s new recruits, with Gary Warren, Carl Dickinson and Diallang Jaiyesimi all in line to feature.

Goalkeeper Nathan Baxter will link up the with the squad next week after his initial training with parent club Chelsea, who are without first-team keepers Thibaut Courtois and Willy Caballero who are on international duty at the World Cup.

Despite not meeting in a competitive match for a decade, the Glovers have retained links with the South Wales outfit.

Manager Way spent two years at the Liberty Stadium, enjoying promotion to the Championship and lifting the Football League Trophy before returning to Yeovil.

A host of loanees have also made the short trip over the bridge, with Shaun MacDonald, Alan Tate, Liam Shephard, Josh Sheehan, Stephen Kingsley, Ryan Hedges, Keston Davies and Roberts all experiencing stints in Green & White.
