Josh Staunton became Darren Sarll’s first summer signing of the 2020/21 transfer window.
The versatile man has been known to play in both in the defence and in holding midfield roles.
In late 2021, he suffered a season-ending injury which left him needing surgery.
Fighting back, Staunton captured the hearts of Yeovil fans the following campaign, becoming vice-captain and enjoying a run to the FA Cup Third Round.
On the final day of the 21/22 season, Staunton was the interim manager of the club. Leading the team to a 1-0 victory over Altrincham, becoming the youngest manager to ever win a National League game.
Staunton committed his future to the club, in the summer of 2022, as the first member of the squad to sign a new deal after the arrival of Chris Hargreaves.
Staunton was appointed club captain in July, and leads the team for the 22/23 season.
