Yeovil Town manager Paul Sturrock has taken another step in the transfer market by signing defender Omar Sowunmi on a one-year deal.

6’5” Omar started his career at Ipswich Town where he progressed through the Portman Road’s Under 18 and Under 21 Academy.

During his time at Ipswich Town he also had loan spells at Braintree in 2014 and Lowestoft in 2015.

Omar was one of the stand out performers in the recent trial game that Paul Sturrock organised at Huish Park as he began the search for new players for next season.

Speaking to ytfc.net Town manager said: “Omar stood out for me in the trial match we held at Huish Park. He is only 19-years-old and very mature for his age. He will certainly benefit a lot by working alongside Terry Skiverton.

“I feel he will have a very successful career and I am excited about him signing for Yeovil Town.”
