SIGNING | Hip Hip hooray!

Hippolyte confirmed as a Glover

29 July 2019

Yeovil Town is pleased to confirm the signing of versatile winger Myles Hippolyte who arrives on a free transfer from Dunfermline Athletic.

Putting pen to paper on a one-year deal at Huish Park with a club option for a second, the 24-year-old returns to English football after a five-year stay north of the border in Scotland.

Winning the Scottish Challenge Cup in 2015 with Livingstone, the attacker then enjoyed cult-hero status at Falkirk during a two-year stint with The Bairns before helping St Mirren win promotion to the SPL in 2017/18.

Joining Dunfermline ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, Hippolyte scored four goals in his opening four matches prior to going on to make 39 appearances for The Pars last season.

Impressing on trial with the green and whites in the last four matches, Myles links up with manager Darren Sarll for a second spell after striking up a good relationship with Town's boss during his time as a scholar at Brentford.

Having secured Myles' services, Sarll said: "He warranted a registration with us based on the three games he had and what I heard from the supporters and how popular he'd become with them - that's important.

"Supporters come to watch players they like watching, not ones you have little or no respect for. The only thing I relate to is the contribution they have to the scoreline and us winning games and what Myles did in his time was contribute directly to two wins and a draw.

"He played in three or four positions and showed a good disciplined attitude whilst also showing a lot of natural instinct relating to the type of player he is, and I"m delighted he's decided to come on board."

Supporters can watch Myles in action for the first time as an official Glover on Saturday when the Vanarama National League campaign kicks-off at Barnet.
