Nels out to end run of bad form

After 10 days without a game, the Glovers return to action this weekend when they Forest Green Rovers (3pm), a match Stuart Nelson is targeting all three points from.

Having suffered a slump in form that has seen the green and whites come out second best in their last three Sky Bet League Two outings, they now face a West Country clash against Rovers.

Just the third EFL meeting between the two sides, Town stopper Stuart Nelson is hoping the well utilised period without a game will see the three points claimed.

Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “It’s the only poor run of form we’ve been on really and it gave us the chance to regroup and have open and honest discussions.

“The best way to learn is by making mistakes, that’s the only way to learn and we all know that. There's a real belief in the dressing room and we need to keep believing.

“We want this to be a really positive place. The way we started the season, we need to get back to that ASAP so we can create that positivity again that maybe some people have lost, but we still believe in ourselves and know what we’ve got to do."

After a frustrating start to the campaign due to injury, Yeovil's number one is back to full fitness and has started the last two league outings.

From Stroud, Nelson will line-up against his hometown club this weekend, but despite his personal links to Forest Green Rovers and the surrounding area, the Football League stalwart is insistent that this game poses no sentimental stumbling block for him.

“I’m very proud to be from Stroud, but that’s as far as it goes,” he said. “My focus is on Yeovil Town Football Club and getting three points on Saturday, and that’s all I really care about.

“From what I can see, they’ve improved from last year so it’s a great game for us to play. These are the games you want to play in and we can’t wait to get out there.”
