The Glovers can confirm striker Francois Zoko has been named as club captain for the 2018/19 campaign with defender Omar Sowunmi appointed captain.

Town's two longest-serving players both had spells wearing the armband during last season and were mainstays in Darren Way's side.

Zoko, who's finished as the club's top scorer for the last three campaigns, made 48 appearances netting 15 times in 2017/18 whilst acting as one of the experienced heads in a youthful looking squad.

The 34-year-old has made 117 appearances for the Green & Whites since late 2015 and has been identified as a leader both on and off the pitch by Darren Way.

Sowunmi, who committed his future to the club by signing a new two-year deal this summer, has been appointed captain after emerging as one of the first names on the teamsheet last season.

The 22-year-old made 46 appearances last term and picked up a host of end of season awards and will now take on the added responsibility of the captaincy.

Entering his fourth campaign with the Glovers, Sowunmi will look to once again play an integral part of Town's season with the added responsibility of the captaincy.
