NEWS | Club salutes departing director

Rossiter resigns from board

9 August 2018

Yeovil Town can confirm that Andy Rossiter has decided to call time on his second period as a director of the club.

Andy, who has many different portfolios at the club since his appointment as a director in 2010, was most recently Chairman of the club’s Academy, a role that has been phased out as Academy operations are being rolled into the main club structure.

Commenting on Rossiter's departure, Chairman John Fry said: “Andy has influenced many different areas of the club during his time as a director, but as his role with the Academy has now ended I fully understand his decision to stand down.

"I was pleased to hear that despite his decision, Andy will still maintain his strong support of the club both as a fan and as a club sponsor via his business Radio Cabs, for which we are hugely grateful."

Bringing an end to a second spell at Huish Park, Mr Rossiter added: “It was a difficult decision to resign, especially when my best friend and best man at my wedding was John Fry. However, the time was right to go.

"I will stay as a season ticket holder as I have always been a fan before a director and I wish the club every success for the coming season. I would also like to say that I have nothing but respect for the hardworking part-time and full-time off-the-field staff who deserve a big thank you from me in whichever position I held.”

Finally, on a personal note, Mr Rossiter concluded: “My wife and I have also enjoyed my involvement as a director of YTFC, with many directors and their wives now being lifelong friends."

Further details on the changes to how the Academy will operate going forward will be announced next week.
