Tom James celebrates his goal v Plymouth PPAUK

Tom James has been included in the Checkatrade Trophy Team of the Tournament, as selected by the EFL.

The versatile defender played all but 45 minutes of Town's Checkatrade campaign, in which Darren Way's side reached the semi-final stage.

Netting in the win against Plymouth Argyle, James was also part of a solid backline which recorded back-to-back clean sheets against AFC Wimbledon and Forest Green Rovers in the knockout stages.

The 21-year-old is one of only three Sky Bet League Two players to make the team, with the other two both representing eventual winners Lincoln City.

The full team is as follows:

Goalkeeper: Josh Lillis (Rochdale)
Defender: Omar Beckles (Shrewsbury Town)
Defender: Anthony Gerrard (Oldham Athletic)
Defender: Tom James (Yeovil Town)
Midfielder: Kenji Gorre (Swansea City U21)
Midfielder: Marcus Maddison (Peterborough United)
Midfielder: Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea U21)
Midfielder: Elliott Whitehouse (Lincoln City)
Midfielder: Shaun Whalley (Shrewsbury Town)
Forward: Ollie Palmer (Lincoln City)
Forward: Wes Burns (Fleetwood Town)
Manager: Danny Cowley (Lincoln City)

Congratulations to Tom from all at YTFC.
