PREVIEW | Yeovil Town v Stevenage

Town looking to enjoy home comforts once again

27 October 2017

Rhys Browne is congratulated after opening the scoring PPAUK

The Glovers host Stevenage on Saturday (3pm) looking to make it consecutive home wins in Sky Bet League Two.

Huish Park last saw league action a fortnight ago, when Crewe Alexandra were dispatched 2-0 courtesy of strikes from Rhys Browne and Fela Olomola.

Since then, Town have played out a loss and a draw in League Two whilst recording a penalty shootout win over Chelsea Under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy in midweek.

Browne was on target in the game against the Young Blues which finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, meaning the Yeovil winger is targeting a third goal in as many games at home.

While the 21-year-old enjoys a rich vein of form, fellow winger Jordan Green hasn't featured for a month due to injury and remains touch and go, whilst Ryan Dickson missed Wednesday's match having picked up concussion at Barnet last weekend.

Preparing for the second of three matches in a row at Huish Park, Darren Way's side welcome Darren Sarll's Stevenage who sit just outside the play-offs in ninth.

After being on the end of a 7-1 drubbing at the hands of league leaders Luton Town earlier this month, Boro bounced back with victory against high-flying Accrington Stanley at the Lamex.

However, defeat to a rejuvenated Forest Green Rovers last time out means the Hertfordshire outfit head to Somerset looking to get back to winning ways once again.

In order to do that, Stevenage will be hoping top scorer Danny Newton (6) can return to scoring form and net his first goal in six, while Matt Godden is searching for a fourth goal in just three games.

Head-to-head
Yeovil come into the encounter unbeaten in their last six meetings with Stevenage.

Both of last season's meetings finished with a share of spoils, with Ben Whitfield grabbing a last-minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw at the Lamex Stadium before Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro notched in a 1-1 draw at Huish Park.

Four of the last six matches between the two sides have ended in a draw, with Town's last win coming in December 2015 in an FA Cup second round fixture.

Officials
Christopher Sarginson (Staffordshire) will take charge on Saturday.

The League Two clash will be Mr. Sarginson's 16th match of the season, having already officiated a fixture involving the Glovers - the 3-2 win over Accrington Stanley back in August.

He will be assisted by Ravel Cheosiaua and Kevin Morris with Adam Bromley acting as fourth official.
