Manager Darren Way is hoping to create another memorable Emirates FA Cup occasion when Sky Bet League One outfit Southend United visit on Saturday (3pm).
The encounter at Huish Park will see the Glovers bid to get past the first round for the fourth time in five years.
With Way enjoying several big FA Cup occasions with Yeovil both as a player and coach, the 37-year-old is targeting more cup history as a manager.
“We’ve had some magical moments,” he told iFollow Glovers.
“We had Liverpool at home, Bolton and Blackpool away. A member of staff that’s still here now, Nick Crittenden, scored (at Blackpool) and I’ll never forget that game.
“We’ve had some very, very good memories in the cup and some of the history created is still living with us now.”
As Town turn their attention to the knockout nature of the FA Cup from league matters, the Yeovil boss is urging his players to make the most of the opportunity.
“The first thing is to enjoy the moment,” Way said. “These games don’t come along too often, you get one chance every year to play in the FA Cup.
“You get a potential pathway for a success story and you get 90 minutes to create that.
“Some of my best moments and best performances are in the FA Cup because it gives you an opportunity to prove people wrong.
“You can prove you can play at a higher level and that means a lot to me (as a manager) and it meant a lot as a player.”
