Having faced Keith Curle's Carlisle United five times previously, Darren Way is targeting three points from the latest trip to Cumbria.

The Glovers make the 674-mile round trip to Brunton Park full of confidence boasting a four-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

Fresh from an Emirates FA Cup first round victory over League One outfit Southend United, Way will take to the touchline on Saturday to take on a side that by full time, he will have faced more than any other since taking charge at Huish Park.

Yet to take maximum points off United, Way feels his side have to deal with the hosts' threats first and foremost.

"Physically and mentally we have to be strong," he told iFollow Glovers.

"I've been to Carlisle twice now and set plays have been a big issue over the years playing at their place.

"Game management and the timing of the goals have been very important (in the past) so we have to show a real resilience and mental toughness to go there, and even if it means we have to win ugly I think that’s really important."

Despite the lengthy trip to Cumbria, Way is looking forward to facing Curle's side once again and knows the importance of preparation.

He said: "It’s another game of football and we have to control the controllables. Preparation, travel, what the players are eating are all important so when we wake up on Saturday morning the players are 110% ready to put on a really good performance.

"I've faced him (Keith Curle) loads of times; twice in my first year in management in the FA Cup, at his place twice in the league plus I've come up against him as a coach.

"I've played Keith’s team a lot, their (the fans) expectations of where Carlisle should be are important to Keith so we have to go and make sure our performance can get their crowd to turn."
