WAY OUTLINES PLANS FOR NEXT SEASON

24 March 2017

Darren Way has made clear his plans for next season ahead of Town’s match at Exeter City on Saturday (3pm).

The 37-year-old took over with the Glovers at the foot of the Sky Bet League Two table in December 2015, and led them to safety.

Yeovil now sit in 17th in the league and Way appreciates it is small progress but has outlined his aims for the 2017/18 campaign.

“I’ve talked about what stage I’m at as a manager and what stage the club is at,” he told YTFC.net.

“Last year we had to stay in the EFL. This year - part two - we’ve stabilised the football club and bought some key assets.

“Part three is to keep those assets and push for promotion next year, and perhaps add one to two additions which turns our 15 draws into wins.”

On the weekend’s game at St James Park, Way added: “It’s probably the third time I’ve come up against Exeter and it’s always good to manage in a local derby.

“We’ve got a group of players hungry to finish the season as successful as they can.

“We want to put on good performances that lead to wins. We’re doing everything in training throughout the week to make that happen.

“All I expect is this team to finish the season strong. It’s about what standards they set as individuals and there’s no better way to put that on show in front of about 800 Yeovil supporters in a local derby.”

Tickets for Saturday’s match (3pm kick-off) can be bought on the day at St James Park with a £1 increase. Advanced purchases can be made at the Huish Park ticket office, online or by phone on 01935 847888.
