PREVIEW: BARNET v YEOVIL TOWN

14 March 2017

All you need to know ahead of Town’s trip to Barnet in Sky Bet League Two (8pm).

Town will be looking to record back-to-back away victories at the Hive, after last weekend's impressive 3-1 win at Morecambe.

Chasing a much-needed three points, goals from Matt Butcher, Alex Lacey and Bevis Mugabi secured the win in Lancashire, before a trip to the capital on Wednesday night.

Incidentally, Barnet themselves are without a win since they beat Morecambe in mid-February.

Having drawn three and lost two since then, the Bees sit 14th in League Two, four points ahead of Town.

Kevin Nugent's side do boast the league's top scorer in Jon Akinde, with the former Bristol City and Crawley Town striker already netting 21 goals this season.

Better away from home, Barnet have won just four of their 18 league matches on home turf during the 2016/17 campaign so far.

Head-to-head

Yeovil's 1-0 home defeat to Barnet back in December was the Glovers first defeat to the London outfit in five previous meetings.

Alex Nicholls' late strike was enough to take three points, but the Bees have lost three and drawn one of the previous four fixtures between the two sides.

Town's most memorable win came on the last day of the 2015/16 season, when Harry Cornick's stoppage time strike secured a 4-3 win having trailed 2-0 and 3-1.

In fact, that was Yeovil's only previous EFL clash with Barnet at the Hive, which Way's side will hope to build on this time around.

Referee

Stephen Martin will take charge of Wednesday's clash in the capital.

Mr. Martin will officiate his 33rd game of the season, which will be his first involving Yeovil.

Last season, the Staffordshire official took charge of the 0-0 draw with Oxford United and the 2-0 loss at home to Exeter, handing just two yellow cards across the two games.

He will be assisted by Ian Cooper (Kent) and Darren Blunden (Kent) with Simon Hooper (Wiltshire) acting as fourth official.
