A round-up of the final Sky Bet League Two matches of 2016.

Oscar Threlkeld and Craig Tanner were on target as Plymouth Argyle ended 2016 top of Sky Bet League Two after a 2-0 win over Crawley Town.


The Pilgrims are two points above second-placed Carlisle United who edged out Notts County in a tight affair at Meadow Lane.


The Cumbrians had to come from behind against County with Jason Kennedy netting the winner in the 65th minute.


Doncaster Rovers dropped to third in the table level on points with Carlisle following a 1-1 draw with Mansfield Town.


The Stags went ahead through Matt Green’s volley but Liam Mandeville rescued a point for promotion-chasing Donny.


Luton Town ended the year with a comfortable victory over Barnet at Kenilworth Road.

Accrington Stanley picked up an important three points against Crewe Alexandra to distance themselves from the bottom two.

Hartlepool United survived a late fightback from Morecambe to win 3-2 at Victoria Park.


The Monkey Hangers led 3-0 at the break but had to grind out a result after a persistent second half from the visitors.


Colchester United sit two places outside the play-offs following a 4-2 win over Stevenage.


The U’s were near the drop zone in November but have climbed the table due to a six-match unbeaten run.


Elsewhere, Leyton Orient and Cambridge United drew 1-1 while Grimsby Town and Blackpool ended goalless.
