Darren Way has cited a changed mentality at Huish Park for the reason behind frustration regarding Town’s last 10 matches.
The Glovers have lost just twice in the last 10 outings but by the same token have won only once, drawing on seven occasions.
Having taken the lead in five of those fixtures, Yeovil have surrendered eight points from winning positions since Boxing Day – including two late equalisers against both Leyton Orient and Cambridge United at Huish Park in the last week.
However, Way is wary of focusing too heavily on the last two draws in particular.
Speaking to YTFC’s official YouTube channel, he said: “If I look at the 10 games we’ve had, we have drawn too many – we’ve drawn seven but only lost two. That’s where the problem is.
“We could be sat here now having a completely different conversation.
“It’s important that you don’t get too despondent just on the last two home performances, by dropping the points that we’ve dropped.
“Having said that, if you look at Leyton Orient they’re a team fighting for their lives which they’ve shown by picking up the (three) points at Plymouth.”
After the highs of promotion to the Championship in 2013, the Glovers suffered back-to-back promotions in the two following seasons to find themselves back in the Football League basement.
Having avoided relegation last season after Way took charge at Huish Park, the Town manager understands the current frustration regarding results.
“As a group we have to keep believing in what we’re doing,” he said. “We’ve made improvements from the last three years.
“I spent a lot of time as a coach and we lost a lot of games. That’s not the case now.
“We were on the touchline hoping to win but now we’re disappointed not to win. It’s a completely different mentality.
“But we want more."
