Darren Way feels preparation is vital for Town’s mammoth trip to Hartlepool in Sky Bet League Two this weekend.
The Glovers face a round-trip the equivalent of travelling to Prague in the Czech Republic, arriving in County Durham looking to make it two wins on the bounce and three unbeaten on the road.
Yeovil saw off second-placed Plymouth Argyle at Huish Park in midweek, but with a six-hour journey to Victoria Park, Way thinks the key to victory is off the pitch as much as on it.
“Preparation is vital when you travel to Hartlepool,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.
“You’ve got to make sure players get their rest and recovery.
“We’ll be ready to go again on Saturday though, that’s for sure.”
In their last eight games Yeovil have come up against six teams in the top seven, and with the potential for 10 games throughout February, Way is relishing the opportunity.
“This month is very tough," he said.
"We have Saturday-Tuesday, Saturday-Tuesday, Saturday-Tuesday and potentially another Saturday-Tuesday. Hold on tight!
“The demands on a footballer now are huge, especially with the turnover of games.
“The intensity that the Plymouth game was played in - the pitch was heavy - takes a lot of energy and we have to travel to Hartlepool and then to Luton.
“These players have to be ready physically and mentally but so far they’re doing a good job.”
