IF I WAS A SUPPORTER, I'D BE DISAPPOINTED - WAY

12 February 2017

Darren Way says he shares the supporters’ disappointment after Town’s 1-1 draw against Leyton Orient in Sky Bet League Two.

The Glovers went into the break a goal up thanks to Francois Zoko’s ninth goal of the season, but had to settle for a point when former Yeovil loanee Gavin Massey netted two minutes from time.

Despite making it three unbeaten in the league, Way was frustrated his side didn’t see the match out to earn what would have been their second home win on the bounce.

“We feel very disappointed,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.

“We had large spells of possession and i think that’s why emotionally we’re so disappointed.

“If I was a supporter I’d be very, very disappointed we’ve not come out winners because of the opportunities that we had.

“All they’ll remember is the last 15 minutes and I have to agree we were poor in the way we played. We didn’t take advantage and we should have.”

He added: “They threw men forward and every time we got the ball forward we couldn’t hold it up, especially in the last 15 minutes of the game.

“We’ve got to make sure the players learn a valuable lesson. When I analysed their goal I feel there were one or two that didn’t track a runner and that’s when you concentration levels have to be at your max.

“It’s important now we try and get three points against Cambridge. Sometimes you don’t get what you deserve in football.”
