Way wants 'high-energy' display

Town manager demanding a lively performance from his squad.

Manager Darren Way wants his players to produce a ‘high-energy’ display against Accrington Stanley on Saturday (3pm).

The Lancashire club provide the opposition for Town’s first home match of the 2017/18 Sky Bet League Two campaign.

John Coleman’s side opened with a 3-1 over Colchester United and followed up with an impressive victory over Championship outfit Preston North End.

Way knows what to expect from the visitors and anticipates a good test.

“It’s not an easy game but every game is winnable,” he told iFollow Glovers.

“We’ve played them a few times now. They’re good technically, on the ball and try and play between the lines.

“Their full-backs get high and wide, their wingers like to get crosses into the box and they’ve got Jackson up front who has a lot of power and pace so will be looking to stretch us in behind.

“Every team has their own threats but we’ve got to put in a performance we feel is our game which I saw throughout pre-season.

“We have to make sure we show togetherness, put a good, high-energy performance in in front of our home supporters and get points on the board because that’s the most important thing.”

Fans can purchase tickets for the match online, by phone on 01935 847888 or in person at the ticket office.
