CLUB COMMENT AND POLL FOR EFL WHOLE GAME SOLUTION PROPOSAL

12 September 2016

An update on the Club's stance regarding the EFL's proposed 'Whole Game Solution'

After discussion amongst the board of directors, Yeovil Town FC remains suspicious regarding the proposed changes put forward by the EFL in its 'Whole Game Solution'.

Chairman John Fry attended the EFL conference in Portugal in June where the proposed changes were outlined, and has since collected the thoughts and opinions of the Club's board of directors ahead of the next EFL Club Meeting on the 22nd September.

The main changes outlined included the expansion of the EFL to four divisions; the reformation of the FA Cup to include mid-week fixtures (primarily in rounds four and five); the introduction of a winter break and the potential regionalisation of the bottom two leagues in the EFL.

The Club currently believes there is a lack of detailed information regarding the proposed changes to the structure and format of the EFL, although feels the changes outlined would be primarily beneficial for clubs operating in the Premier League and not the EFL - the needs of Yeovil Town FC are substantially different to that of teams in the top division of the professional game in England.

Yeovil Town FC would like to canvas the opinion of the Club's supporters who can do so via completing a poll by clicking here. Fans have until Monday 19th September to share their views, which will be taken into consideration when the Club puts forward its final views to the EFL later in September.
