Attacker Ollie Bassett has been called up to the Northern Ireland Under-19 squad for their upcoming UEFA European Championship Under-19 qualifiers in Poland.
The 18-year-old was part of an Under-19 training camp earlier this month and impressed manager Stephen Frail enough to make the final squad.
Bassett, who is currently on loan at Dorchester Town, will be part of the Northern Ireland side that will take on Slovakia, Macedonia and Poland between the 6th and 11th October as part of their qualifying campaign.
After making his Under-19 debut at the start of September, the Glovers academy graduate is looking forward to being involved in his first competitive matches with Northern Ireland.
“I’m very pleased to be involved with the squad, it should be a good experience to go to a different country and compete in the European Championship qualifiers.”
Everyone at Yeovil Town Football Club wishes Ollie all the best during his time with the Northern Ireland Under-19 national team.
