Darren Way is hoping to build on the momentum garnered from back-to-back wins in Sky Bet League Two to continue the Glovers surge up the table.
Town saw off Newport County on Saturday thanks to Tom Eaves’ strike 10 minutes from time, building on the 1-0 win against Wycombe Wanderers at Huish Park a fortnight ago.
After victory, Way was delighted for his players whose efforts helped boost the Glovers to 15th in League Two.
“The players deserve it, they took a real ownership and responsibility this week as to the targets and goals we’re looking to aim for and I think we reached them today – it’s good.
“We’ve created real positivity that can carry some momentum because I don’t think we’ve had that for a long time and it just gives the players belief that we can push to the top half of the table.”
Yeovil travel to Crewe Alexandra next looking to win three matches in a row for the first time since March, when Town went on to win four matches on the bounce and all but secure their Football League status.
Having engineered last season’s revival, Way believes the positivity is beginning to take effect at Huish Park.
“I’m very proud to be manager of this Football Club,” said the 36-year-old. “The players are working extremely hard behind the scenes and there’s a real belief in the dressing room – it feels quite powerful.
“We’re trying to create a winning culture within our dressing room, a good environment to be in and a place where players want to come and work, and work very hard. That’s what we’ve got at the moment.”
