SKY BET LEAGUE TWO ROUND-UP

28 November 2016

A round-up from all the weekend's action in Sky Bet League Two.

Carlisle United went top of Sky Bet League Two after Charlie Wyke’s second-half hat-trick helped them to a convincing win over Mansfield Town.

The striker has six goals in his last three games which has helped the Cumbrians move above a stuttering Plymouth Argyle for the first time this season.

Argyle suffered their third straight defeat at the hands of Morecambe at the Globe Arena.

Derek Adams’ side hadn’t lost in seven matches on the road, while the hosts hadn’t recorded three points at home in the same stretch.

Doncaster Rovers gained ground on Plymouth coming from behind to beat Leyton Orient 3-1.

Callum Kennedy’s brilliant 35-yard free kick put Orient ahead, but a first-half injury-time equaliser from Jordan Houghton and two penalties from Liam Mandeville turned the match in Rovers’ favour.

Portsmouth fell five points behind Doncaster as Stevenage secured their fourth successive away win at Fratton Park.

The visitors grabbed two second-half goals in four minutes before Michael Smith set up a thrilling finale.

Blackpool moved into the play-offs with victory over bottom side Newport County.

Sean Rigg missed a penalty for the Welsh club at 1-1 before three goals after the break settled matters for the Seasiders.

Colchester United continued their resurgence by putting four goals past Crewe Alexandra.

Sat one from bottom after their loss to Town, the U’s have won back-to-back matches moving up to 15th in the process.

Scott Kashket scored in each half as Wycombe Wanderers eased to victory over Hartlepool United.

The midfielder took his tally to six goals, extending Wycombe’s winning streak to four.

There were goals galore at the Hive as Barnet edged Notts County in a five-goal thriller.

Luke Gambin was on target twice for the Bees who are now unbeaten in seven league matches.

It was a similar affair at Broadfield Stadium where hosts Crawley Town beat Grimsby Town 3-2.

Mariners top scorer Omar Bogle cancelled out James Collins’ opener, but Jordan Roberts’ double secured the Red Devils win before Bogle added a late consolation.

Elsewhere, Cambridge United overcame struggling Cheltenham Town while Exeter City and Luton Town ended goalless.
