GETTING TO KNOW YOU - NOTTS COUNTY

30 June 2015

Founded in 1862, Notts County is the oldest professional football club in the world and they play in a black and white striped home kit.

Unsurprisingly, they have also played the most Football League games – competing in over 4,700 matches.

The club have an illustrious history, having played in the top flight of English football several times.

In the last two decades, the Magpies have bounced between League One and League Two, struggling to maintain a long period of regularity in either division. This is amplified by the fact that no club has moved between the Football League divisions more times than Notts with 13 promotions and 16 relegations.

One of the reasons their recent instability could be attributed to the revolving door of Managers, with 11 different coaches taking the Magpies hotseat in the last five years.

Currently at the helm is former Tottenham Hotspur coach Richard Moniz, appointed at the start of April on a three-year deal.

Distance from Huish Park: 202 miles (four hours).

2014-15 season final position: 21st in League One (relegated).

Odds on to finish: Win outright 20/1, promotion 9/2, relegation 12/1 (all odds sought from SkyBet).

Super stat: Notable former Notts County Managers include Sam Allardyce and Neil Warnock.
