The Glovers are without a win in their last six outings in League One, and addressing Yeovil's form is more important than capitalising on the Spireites, according to Johnson.
“It's about what you're doing at the moment,” said Johnson. “You've got to know what your opposition's strengths and weaknesses are as we always say, but it's about us getting confidence back and getting our running back and basically that will to win that has got to be there.
“When you've lost a few games it's a little bit harder to get it back so the next win for both clubs is vital for the next month or so because it's wins that give you that confidence.”
Impressive performances have been few and far between for Yeovil, and the Town boss is looking for consistency if they are to resurrect their season.
“You've got to make sure you don't go somewhere and not perform, because every team in this league is capable of beating you if you're not performing but on the reverse of that, if you are performing - as we've show when we've performed - any team can beat any other team on their day, so it's just getting that consistency.
“Players are at this level sometimes because of that inconsistency, sometimes because they're young, inexperienced or not quite fit enough because you're squad is not big enough where you can leave someone out to work hard for a couple of weeks.
“If we've got players coming back from injury we have to play them in the team generally, and quite often they don't have that match sharpness. I'm looking forward to the day where we have a settled team where we get a couple of results and we can pick that team who can get stronger and more aware of each other because we haven't had that yet. That's not an excuse, by the way, that's just the way it is.”
