The Belles have certainly been living up to their favourites tag for this season’s FA Women’s Super League Two title in their opening fixtures.
Their first three league games saw them score 11 goals alone, followed by a comfortable 2-0 victory against Watford last weekend to maintain their 100 per cent FA WSL2 record.
Yeovil themselves have also enjoyed a strong start to the season, with just two losses in seven games in all competitions, leaving Edwards confident her side will give a good account of themselves.
“I would be lying if I said we don’t keep an eye out for how other teams are doing in the league,” she said.
“Doncaster have been scoring goals for fun and we know we will have to put in a fantastic performance and be at our best.
“As a defender, I will definitely have to work hard. But I have been pleased with the defensive performances we have been putting in recently.
“They are the best team in our league, they have a team full of experienced and talent players but it is a chance to show what we are about. We are really looking forward to it.
“We treat every game like it’s a cup final, we approach it in the same manner and go out for the win.”
But midfielder Millie Bright insists Doncaster are not about to let up on their early-season pace with just a small portion of the season done and dusted so far.
“It’s nice to know that people are putting us down as favourites,” she said. “We have gone out and done ourselves proud so far but we know we have got a lot of work still to do.
“Every game will be a tough one, so we just have to keep working hard and focus on ourselves.
Yeovil have got off to a good start so it will be a good game.
“We had a lot of changes in the club from last season but it’s been a fresh start. It’s a really good environment to be in at the moment, there is such a good team spirit that no matter how hard it gets, we are confident we will be able to work through it together.”
