PADDY BREAKS THAT RECORD

25 February 2013

Yeovil Town striker Paddy Madden has finally broken Dennis Coughlin’s record of scoring in successive matches set back in the sixties.

Paddy’s eighth goal in successive matches went in after only 6 minutes of the draw at Doncaster on Saturday.

Speaking to www.ytfc.net Paddy was naturally pleased to go into the record books.

“It’s very satisfying to go down in the record books for such an achievement. I’m very happy about it I can assure you!

“It was quite an early goal on Saturday but when the keeper fumbled I was there to pounce on it. It was just unfortunate that we were not able to hang on and get another win.

“To be in the record books though makes it very special for me personally. Now I’d like to get a few more to make it more difficult for anybody to pass my record.

“Me Da is buzzing with all the success right now, as are the rest of my family. Now it’s a question of getting three points against Colchester and if a goal for me helps to achieve that I will be delighted.”

Paddy has now scored 19 goals since his loan arrival from Carlisle and subsequent full transfer in January.

He tops the League One goal scorers table by two goals from Coventry City striker Leon Clarke.

Well done Paddy and congratulations from everybody at the club.
