Manager Paul Sturrock believes August will be the most testing month for Town this season, with injuries blighting the squad.

The Glovers are currently without nine first team players, coinciding with a difficult start to the campaign which has seen Yeovil yet to earn a point.

Despite Sturrock being without almost 50% of his squad, the Town boss isn’t using it as an excuse for his side’s form.

"Every experienced player seems to be going down with something at the moment. But we can’t keep going on about it, because then my reasoning gets turned into excuses and I’m not prepared to go down that road.

"We have injuries but we’ll still put 11 out. We just need to get on the move and get some points on the board.”

Yeovil have another two games in August before moving into September, but Sturrock believes it can only get easier for the Green and Whites.

"It’s so exasperating being a manager at this time.

"Fans can quite easily say he’s moaning about injuries again, but I’ve never had anything like this before. To have nine experienced players out at one point is galling.

"We’ve been playing a striker in central midfield and we’re still trying to fit round pegs into square holes.

"August has caught us out. The hardest month we’re going to play this season is the first one."

Sturrock and his squad welcome Luton to Huish Park on Saturday, with tickets for the fixture available right up until kick off by calling the ticket office on 01935 847888, or by clicking HERE.
