Yeovil Town travelled to Stadium MK to face MK Dons to bring the curtain down on a pretty miserable season.

Manager Paul Sturrock was forced into making five changes for today’s match with Krysiak, Twumasi, Edwards, Grant and Hayter all returning with all the omissions being due to injury.

Yeovil started brightly and went close from an early corner but conceded a foul in the process.

Five minutes in and a terrible error by Twumasi nearly let the Dons in but it was only putting off the inevitable as a minute later Carl Baker smashed in a great goal. Not really much The Glovers could have done about that.

With the early goal under their belts MK controlled the play for large periods and Yeovil were finding it hard to gain any real pressure on the home side.

James Berrett set up a quick attack with James Hayter but Hayter’s “goal” was deemed offside.

MK Dons won a free kick in the 24th. minute and Dean Lewington’s superb free kick was up and over the wall giving Kyrsiak absolutely no chance for the second goal to the home side.

Minutes later and Will Grigg is through but shoots wide and then Grigg had another chance go wide after a great run by Spence.

Grigg was popping up everywhere and following a foul by Arthurworry we had the first yellow card of the afternoon.

MK went three nil up in the 35th. minute when Darren Potter volleyed home after Lewington’s back header across goal.

Manager Paul Sturrock will be asking questions about the Yeovil defending for that one.

With 39 minutes gone things got worse for the Glovers as Will Grigg powered a header home for MK Don’s century of goals for the season. Again some questionable defending.

Harsh words no doubt in the dressing room as the home side coast to victory.

Manager Sturrock changed shape for the start of the second half reverting to a 4-3-3 formation and bringing on Kieffer Moore for Gozie Ugwu.

After premature celebrations by the Dons fans as Colchester got a penalty, and missed it, suddenly Yeovil pull a goal back through a Spence own goal in the 56th. minute.

As the game wears on AJ Leitch Smith comes on for James Hayter but the home side seems to have their minds elsewhere.

Former Glover Dean Bowditch comes on for MK Dons replacing Will Grigg.

Lewington added a fifth as the game petered out while MK Dons started a giant party as they prepare for life in the SkyBet Championship, having piped Preston to the second automatic promotion place.
