The 21-year-old became the Glovers’ 12th signing of the summer at the beginning of the week, joining on loan from Championship side Millwall until January.

He bolsters manager Darren Way’s defensive options and wants to concentrate on the future rather than focusing on the amount of goals the side have conceded.

“The past is the past and I wasn’t here for that so it’s all about the now,” he told iFollow Glovers.

“it’s about getting togetherness in the team, keeping clean sheets and scoring goals.

“It’s about being a unit at the back and I’m only as good as my mate next to me so it’s all about sticking together.

“We’ve all got to be singing from the same sheet.”

The big defender added: “I’ve only trained two days and you can see the talent is there.

“The season is still really early – you can see the twists it takes. it only takes a good run and if the boys stick together we can definitely get one going.”

Nelson could make his debut for Yeovil when Coventry visit Somerset.

The Sky Blues began the campaign with back-to-back victories before suffering defeat to Newport County.

He said: “They’ve come down from League One so they’re obviously going to be good opponents.

“They got beat last week so they’re going to be up for it but we’re going to be more up for it than they are.”
