PREVIEW: ACCRINGTON STANLEY V YEOVIL TOWN

25 November 2016

All you need to know ahead of Town’s trip to Accrington Stanley in Sky Bet League Two tomorrow (3pm).

Following the postponement of Town’s match with Crawley Town, Darren Way has had a full week to prepare his squad for tomorrow’s trip to Lancashire.

The Glovers dropped to 12th in League Two after Tuesday’s round of fixtures but remain two points off the play-offs with a game in hand.

Accrington braved the weather and travelled to Hartlepool United in midweek, where they suffered their fourth consecutive defeat.

Stanley have had various injuries and illnesses to contend with in recent weeks but welcomed back Billy Kee and John O’Sullivan to their line-up at Victoria Park.

Defender Matty Pearson missed the game due to suspension and his replacement Mark Hughes will be available after his midweek red card was rescinded.

Eighteenth-placed Accrington’s main threats will be joint-top scorers Kee and Romauld Boco who both have five league goals to their name.

Head-to-head

Yeovil and Accrington have met four times in history, twice in the 2014 Emirates FA Cup and twice in League Two last season.

Town progressed through to the FA Cup third round after defeating Stanley 2-0 in a second round replay.

The sides recorded a league win each last year, with Ryan Dickson grabbing the winner last time out.

Referee

Dean Whitestone (Northamptonshire) will take charge of his 21st match of the campaign at the Crown Ground tomorrow.

Mr. Whitestone has awarded 54 yellow cards so far this season but has sent no one off. He refereed Town’s 1-0 win over Newport County at Huish Park last month.

Mr. Whitestone will be assisted by Ricky Wootton (West Yorkshire) and Joe Simpson (Manchester) with Alf Greenwood (North Yorkshire) acting as fourth official.
