Yeovil Town were held to a draw by bottom of the league Dover Athletic at Huish Park.

After the visitors took an early lead, Town struggled to gain a significant foothold on the game.

The second half saw an improvement from the Glovers, and a header by Adi Yussuf with fifteen to play secured a point.

Darren Sarll made just one change to the side which beat Bromley on Tuesday evening. Dale Gorman returned to the side following his suspension, with Sonny Blu Lo-Everton making way for him.

Looking to start fast once again, it was the visiting Dover side that did just that. With the wind in their favour, TJ Bramble’s cross caught Grant Smith off-guard with just two minutes on the clock as he struggled to claim the ball and palmed it into the back of the net.

During the first-half, the Glovers chances were limited to set-pieces, with Dale Gorman forcing a save with his driven effort from 30-yards-out on the 20 minute mark.

The visitors continued to test Town on the break, and required a heroic block from Dan Moss to keep the score within one.

In truth, the visitors deserved their lead at the break, but the second half saw Yeovil turn their pressure up a notch.

Just two minutes into the half, Gorman’s corner caused havoc, and after being hacked off the line once, Wilkinson headed back onto goal and saw his effort headed clear.

In games gone by this season, Yeovil have had great success on the break this season. Just after the hour mark, Knowles & Wakefield combined on a fast breakaway, with that latter wining a corner following his dangerous delivery. From the resulting corner, the ball went wide to Barnett who played in Lo-Everton who forced a save from a tight angle.

As the half grew on, Knowles’ threat increased, his long-throw eventually fell to Staunton who poked his effort wide.

With fifteen minutes to go, Yussuf had the ball in the back of the net after flicking the ball home, however he was just fractionally offside.

Yet, just one minute later, the Glovers found a way to level the affair. Jordan Barnett’s hooked delivery was seemingly flicked on by Yussuf (despite debate from Barnett himself who felt he got the final touch), and the ball found its way into the back of the net.

In the dying embers, Yeovil Town were dealt an injury blow as Knowles was dropped by a Dover player onto his head, and unable to continue.

Despite a late bombardment from the ten-man Glovers, the visitors held firm and ensured the points were shared.
