On Saturday evening, Yeovil Town return to Huish Park to face FC Halifax Town on BT Sport (17:15).
Darren Sarll’s side will be looking to continue the winning formula which saw the Glovers earn their first win of the season on Bank Holiday Monday.
With two wins from their first three games, Saturday’s visitors Halifax will be hoping to maintain their play-off place live in front of the TV cameras.
Darren Sarll’s thoughts
Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, Sarll said; “We’ve had some good games (with Halifax), very tactical, he’s very tactically minded, Pete (Wild). They seem to want to bully their way through the season.
“I think we’ve won a couple, drawn one, and well and truly beaten here after Reuben Reid got bullied in the box and we didn’t get a penalty.”

Speaking in his press conference, Darren Sarll confirmed that Alex Bradley was closest to a return of the group of players on the sidelines; “I would like to think that Alex Bradley will be back in contention on Saturday after injury (long-COVID), it depends how late we can get him back in to training.“
Despite Bradley being close to a return, Town will still likely be without loanees Lewis Simper and Jack Robinson.
Matt Worthington will serve the second match of his suspension after a straight red card against King’s Lynn Town.
Long-term absentees Mark Little and Reuben Reid remain unavailable.
A foot in the opposition camp
After two wins from their first three games, the Shaymen currently sit in a play-off place, albeit very early days in the season.
Managed by former Oldham boss Pete Wild, the 36-year-old is entering his third season at the helm. Within his ranks are two former Yeovil Town players. Defender Tom Bradbury was a member of Yeovil Town’s 19/20 side which finished fourth place in the league. Not a first-choice defender, Tom struggled to get minutes in the first team due to the form of Luke Wilkinson and Lee Collins.
Yeovil Town fans won’t need to look long into the history books for Matt Warburton. Signing on loan from Northampton, Warburton went straight into the team but unfortunately goals were hard to come by for the attacker. However, he did manage a memorable strike against Woking in a 1-1 at Kingfield. Warburton departed in April 2021.
Have we met before
Since returning to the National League, Town have endured mixed fortunes against the West Yorkshire based outfit. In Sarll’s first season, the Glovers won home and away against the Shayman, securing 2-0 wins in both fixtures.
Last season saw the Glovers frustrated by Wild’s side, being held to a 1-1 draw at the Shay, then being dispatched 0-3 at Huish Park late in the season.

Saturday’s game will be televised live on BT Sport 1, with coverage starting from 5pm. After a frustrating run of results on TV, the green and whites will be looking to turn the tide on Saturday evening.
