Yeovil Town return to league action on Saturday afternoon (3pm) as Barnet visit Huish Park.

There’s a real feel-good factor amongst the squad after last weekend’s FA Cup victory, with the Glovers now looking to extend their unbeaten run in the National League.

The visitors Barnet come into the fixture in strong form themselves, winning their last three fixtures on the bounce, and most recently boasted an impressive 3-0 victory over Maidenhead United.

Darren Sarll’s thoughts

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Sarll said: “We concentrate on what we can effect. What we do is work hard every day, try and send the players out in the best shape, mentally and physically.

“I think when you focus your mind to those things, there is clarity, so I think we’re doing a great job.

“We’re punching so far above our weight, we’re just trying to continue it another game on Saturday. It’s been very enjoyable of late.”

Team news

Despite picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Stevenage, Josh Staunton will be available with FA Cup yellow cards not carrying over to league action.

Reuben Reid will be hoping for more minutes after he made his long-awaited return to the side against Stevenage, coming on as a substitute in the closing stages.

Jack Robinson remains injured but could be in line for a return in the coming weeks, alongside Mark Little who has stepped up his recovery process.

A foot in the opposition camp

Barnet come into the fixture a rejuvenated side under the management of Dean Brennan, the Bees have lost just once in their last six fixtures, winning the remaining five.

Former Wealdstone boss Brennan was initially appointed as ‘Head of Football,’ but after Harry Kewell was dismissed earlier this season, he has stepped into the role to great effect.

Between the sticks for the visitors is a man Brennan knew before his time at Barnet, Aston Oxborough was Brennan’s no.1 at Wealdstone as his side were National League South champions during the 2019/20 season. On loan from Norwich, Oxborough is tipped to have a bright future in the game, and experience in the National League will only help his cause.

Have we met before

Since returning to the National League, Yeovil and Barnet have played out some memorable occasions, the stand-out of those being the 19/20 play-off eliminator at Huish Park, in which Barnet snatched a victory over the Glovers.

Last season, Town completed the double over Barnet, winning 3-1 at Huish Park alongside a 1-4 victory on the road at the Hive.
