Yeovil Town will look to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointing result as Altrincham visit Huish Park (7:45pm).

After a defeat at home to Notts County, Darren Sarll and his players will be desperate to right the wrongs from Saturday and start climbing the National League table once again.

Since turning full-time in the summer, Altrincham have enjoyed a positive start to the season, currently sitting in 8th place, most recently beating Maidenhead United 2-0 at Moss Lane.

Darren Sarll’s thoughts

Speaking after Saturday’s defeat to Notts County, Sarll said; “We deserved that (negative) reaction from the supporters, we’ve brought the onto ourselves with a lack of bravery in possession. These young lads will have to get through it.

“It was just so weak, in possession we’ve been trying to add an extra pass, but we may have to change that.”

Team news

In his post-match interview, Sarll hinted at changes to his side, “We are going to have to open the door for other opportunities which come in the squad depth.”

In terms of injury news, Luke Wilkinson, Morgan Williams, Reuben Reid and Mark Little remain absent for this fixture.

A foot in the opposition camp

Altrincham FC are a club steeped into non-league history. Based just outside the city of Manchester, Alty are one of the most recognisable non-league clubs in the country.

Josh Hancock is the star man for today’s visitors. Born in Crewe in 1990, he began his career at Nantwich in their youth team, before spells at Winsford United and Witton Albion, he joined Altrincham in July 2017. The no.10 has since made a combined total of 159 league and cup appearances for Alty- scoring 66 goals in the process. He famously scored against Portsmouth in the FA Cup last season at Fratton Park, which has since led him to be tipped an Altrincham legend by manager Phil Parkinson.

Have we met before

Last season’s encounters with Altrincham saw mixed results for Yeovil Town. At home, the Glovers continued their excellent start to 2021 with a victory thanks to goals from Chris Dagnall and Rhys Murphy.

Our trip to Moss Lane saw a topsy-turvy clash which finished 4-3 go in Altrincham’s favour, however it was a serious injury to Josh Neufville which took the headlines from a Yeovil perspective.
