Yeovil Town Ladies FC are delighted to announce the return of all time leading goal scorer, Jemma Tewkesbury to the club.

Although confident that their current squad will do well in the Women’s Super League – the  FA WSL – which the Glovers are set to join in 2014, the club are keen to strengthen their line up and the signing of Tewkesbury is the first step in this project.

Tewkesbury left the Glovers to join Portsmouth two summers ago after an amazing run with Yeovil, including scoring 52 goals in the 2009/10 season. Since that time Jemma has enjoyed a successful period at Pompey, but has opted to return to  Somerset .

Overall in three seasons of Premier League Football, Jemma has bagged an impressive 32 goals in 57 appearances.

Commenting on Tewkesbury’s return, Club Chairman David Mills said “When Joint Manager Sarah Lawler told me that Jemma had agreed to return to the club, I was absolutely delighted. This is fantastic news for the club and it is great to have Jemma back. When Jemma left in 2011 I told her that I thought she would go on to be a Super League player and I am thrilled she will indeed be an FA WSL player for Yeovil”.
