Paddy Madden returned to action this afternoon completing 60 minutes in a 7-1 victory over Torquay United.
The game started in frantic fashion with both James Hayter and Madden going close for the Glovers.
It was Hayter who opened the scoring after 12 minutes when he powerfully headed home a Madden cross from 10 yards.
Madden got himself on the scoresheet when he converted a Sam Hoskins cross with a first time shot whilst under pressure from the Torquay centre back.
The visitors pulled a goal back within 20 seconds of the second half starting. Joey Jones was deemed to have fouled the Torquay striker just inside the area. Skipper Lathrope stepped up and drilled the ball past Dunn, despite the keeper getting a hand to the ball.
Just minutes later Michael Ngoo saw his run halted inside the area, but the Liverpool loanee saw his penalty strike well saved by Thompson in the United goal.
On the hour mark Madden made it 3-1 when he was quickest to react when Hayter had his shot palmed away by Thompson. The Irishman made no mistake in slamming the ball home from the edge of the area.
Three minutes later A. Trailist made it 4-1. The midfielder beat two Torquay defenders before firing home from just outside the area.
With 20 minutes remaining a delightful Sam Hoskins free-kick from 25 yards made it 5-1. The former Saints man curled the ball around the wall with his right boot, leaving the United keeper helpless.
Another trialist made it 6-1 when he met a Hoskins corner with a diving header at the back post.
It was left to Ngoo to complete the scoring with three minutes remaining. The striker glided past three defenders and calmly slotted the ball past the advancing keeper.
