22nd February 2021

Yeovil Town host Weymouth at Huish Park for the first time since 1999 on Tuesday evening (7:45pm).

After early season struggles, both sides look to be on the up with positive results since the turn of the year.

For Yeovil, Darren Sarll’s side have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the new year at Huish Park, whereas Weymouth have picked up seven points from their last five games.

Team news

Yeovil Town will be boosted by the return of Lee Collins on Tuesday night, after missing four matches due to suspension and COVID issues, the club captain returns for the derby.

Luke Wilkinson, Josh Staunton, Lawson D’Ath are all likely to sit out.

In last week’s press conference, Sarll confirmed Emmanuel Sonupe was stepping up his road to recovery, but Tuesday’s game may come just too soon for the former Tottenham youth player.

A foot in the opposition camp

Recent loan signing Dominic Revan has revitalised the Terras’ defence. After making his Aston Villa first team debut against Liverpool in the FA Cup, the defender surprised many by heading south to join Weymouth on loan just days later. Revan was featured in the National League’s TOTW after Saturday’s draw with Solihull Moors.

Manager Brian Stock was under pressure after defeat to Yeovil in January, but picking up ten points from six games has settled nerves on the South Coast.

Previous meetings

We first met Weymouth this season in January, and it was a great night to be a Yeovil fan. Goals from Josh Neufville, Albi Skendi and Joe Quigley secured a 3-0 win for the Glovers at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

The last time we played Weymouth at Huish Park, it was a similarly successful days work, but this time in the FA Trophy. After drawing at the Bob Lucas Stadium, the Terras travelled to South Somerset and were swiftly knocked out by Steve Thompson’s side.

Looking back over the 204 fixtures between the two sides, Yeovil have the more positive record, winning on 89 occasions, drawing 36 times and losing 77, however the goal difference between the two sides is a little tighter, with just an eight-goal swing, with Yeovil netting 321 to Weymouth’s 310.
