Yeovil Town travel to Altrincham (3pm) this weekend in the final away trip of the National League season.

After a positive performance in Tuesday’s draw against Maidenhead, Darren Sarll will be hoping for more of the same, despite a threadbare pool of players to choose from.

Saturday’s hosts Altrincham will be welcoming 600 fans to Moss Lane for the first time this season and hoping to create a hostile atmosphere for the visiting Glovers.

Darren Sarll’s thoughts

Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, Sarll said: “I want very similar performance levels to Tuesday.

“Since we started playing again after Lee’s passing, we’ve given it everything, absolutely everything which is a testament to them.

“It can be difficult looking at other teams now because you don’t understand their motivation levels.

“I can only speak for my own and my lads have been very motivated and kept a good attitude throughout and sometimes that’s not been good enough to play well and win, and other times it has been.

“If we can replicate our performance on Tuesday night from Saturday, that’s all I can ask for. They’re still getting paid so why should they perform any less than that.”

Team news

Luke Wilkinson will be unavailable for the remainder of the National League season after his red card on Tuesday evening against Maidenhead. Further suspensions include Alex Bradley who will be sitting out the final game of his three-game ban on Saturday afternoon.

Darren Sarll had hoped to include youngster Alex John, but his injury ravaged campaign continued with the academy graduate unavailable for selection.

Charlie Lee may also be a doubt with Sarll stating, “he’s walking like he’s got glass in his shoes,” during his weekly press conference.

Further injuries include Rhys Murphy, Matt Worthington, Josh Staunton & Max Hunt.

A foot in the opposition camp

Following a play-off promotion in the 19/20 season, Altrincham took to National League football like a duck to water, sitting in a play-off position up until the turn of the year. However, as the season progressed, Phil Parkinson’s side have slipped down the table, but still remain above the once relegation places.

The star man for Alty is Josh Hancock, the central midfielder has netted 11 times in the league this season and has been described as a potential ‘club legend’ by his manager. Hancock has a total of 70 goals across 173 games in Altrincham colours, and will be looking for more on Saturday afternoon.
