Yeovil Town’s pre-season campaign reaches its conclusion on Saturday afternoon (3pm) as AFC Bournemouth’s U23’s visit Huish Park.

After back-to-back wins against Dorchester and Bath City, Darren Sarll will hope he can end his season preparations with a victory.

The fixture will be played behind closed doors; however, you can still watch all the action with a free live stream on the club’s YouTube channel.

Team news

In his weekly press conference, Darren Sarll insisted that new signing Ryan Burke would be involved, describing the young full back as a “A brilliant addition and we’ll see a lot of him Saturday.”

Tuesday’s game also saw Rhys Murphy, Matt Worthington and Lee Collins sit out due to injury concerns.

Last time we met

The Glovers last met an AFC Bournemouth side was against the Cherries first team at Huish Park in 2017.

After Keston Davies’ thumping header gave Town the lead, the then Premier League side fought back through a Lys Mousset equaliser. Benik Afobe then struck twice to secure victory for the visitors.

Yeovil Town U18s clashed with AFC Bournemouth earlier this year. After three quickfire goals from the Cherries, the young Glovers battled hard but ultimately fell to a 3-2 defeat at Alvington.

A foot in the opposition camp

Led by former Bournemouth player Shaun Cooper, the young Cherries have already faced a number of National League sides in pre-season action.

After losing 3-0 to Gary Johnson’s Torquay, Bournemouth bounced back with a convincing 4-0 victory over Aldershot Town.

Goals from Sam Sherring, Keelan O’Connell, Kyle Taylor and Luke Nippard were the difference that afternoon against an experienced Shots side.
