The 18-year-old played virtually the entire match on Saturday, impressing throughout before netting a spectacular injury-time winner for the Magpies to secure a first win in four matches.
Bassett, who played on the right wing, almost scored in the first half only to be denied by a fine Ashlee Jones save.
But Bassett wasn’t to be denied and netted a brilliant solo effort with virtually the last kick of the game to earn the Dorset outfit a 3-2 win in Evo-Stik League Southern Premier.
The attacker picked up the ball inside his own half before setting off on a mazy run which took him past two Chesham defenders, before finding the back of the net from the edge of the box.
Fellow loanee Joe Lea missed out with an ankle injury which is likely to rule him out of Tuesday’s meeting with Cirencester Town, although Bassett will once again be available for selection.
