The Glovers loanee completed the full 90 minutes but couldn’t stop the Magpies going down 4-1 at Cirencester Town despite another eye-catching goal.
Buoyed from scoring a stunning last minute winner at the weekend, the 18-year-old enjoyed the first chance of the match against Cirencester, testing home ‘keeper Raajan Gill early on.
The Northern Ireland Under-19 international almost claimed an assist in the first half, skipping past numerous defenders on the right before picking out teammate Franklyn Clarke in the middle who couldn’t fire past Gill.
Despite a positive start the Dorset outfit fell 4-0 behind before Bassett cut inside and found the net with a well-placed finish with 15 minutes left to play.
That was as good as it got for Mark Jermyn’s side although Bassett continued his goal scoring form.
Fellow Town loanee Joe Lea missed out through injury once again but could be back in contention for the weekend’s trip to Kettering Town alongside Bassett.
